Often, families begin taking care of estate planning when they become unexpected faced with a “worst-case scenario.” Today, many families now have a greater sense of urgency to get wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents in order as soon as they can. At Ford + Bergner LLP, we will continue to do everything we can by using technology to serve our clients and others who need help during this unprecedented time.
In the past, we would typically meet with our clients more than once. During the first meeting, we would use this time to discuss your needs and create a list of the information you need to successfully execute those documents. Today, we are using technology to conduct these meetings, as well as communicating with clients via telephone. Based on the first meeting with a client, members of the Ford + Bergner LLP team will prepare your documents and electronically send them so you will have time to review them. As a part of your review, we answer any questions and also make any changes that may arise once you have completely reviewed the documents. We are more than willing to answer any questions someone may have about their estate planning documents.
We understand that many people may have questions and concerns about what can be executed online and what cannot be executed online. When it comes time to execute a client’s Will, we invite clients into our office to execute their documents for those clients who are comfortable doing so. For clients who are uncomfortable coming in to execute their documents in person, we are happy to arrange for a mobile notary to assist you executing the documents at your home.
The safety of your clients and members of the Ford + Bergner LLP team has always been important, but the importance has risen to a higher level. If you would like to have your Will prepared or if you have questions about Powers of Attorney, Advanced Medical Directive, and more, please reach out to us today.
